TRIBE | Managing Director
Seta Morton is an intuitively-driven, values-centered interdisciplinary curator, arts administrator, writer, editor, and dance artist born, raised, and based on Lenape homelands (New Jersey and New York).
She is the Managing Director of TRIBE Multidisciplinary Visual Performances as of August 2026. From 2022- 2026 Seta was the Program Director & Associate Curator at Danspace Project. She previously served the organization as Associate Curator, Public Engagement (2019-2022) and in Development as an Individual Giving Associate in 2018. She was the editor for Danspace’s digital and print publications for her entire tenure at the organization. From 2016-2022, Seta also worked as an independent producer for choreographers including Sarah Michelson and iele paloumpis and worked as an artistic administrator for choreographer, Ishmael Houston-Jones. Seta has curated numerous performances and public programs and co-organized four Danspace Platforms with guest artist curators and Executive Director & Chief Curator, Judy Hussie-Taylor, including Okwui Okpokwasili’s Platform 2020: Utterances From The Chorus and Kyle Abraham’s Platform 2024: A Delicate Ritual. Seta and Judy co-curated Platform 2026: Secret Gardens and Danspace’s 50th Anniversary Festival in 2025. Independent of Danspace, Seta curated V E S S E L / / F E R M E N T: archive alchemy (make it a prayer), an evening of poetic readings and rituals for all-Black audiences at PAGEANT in Brooklyn, NY (February 2024). She also curated The Burden, an exhibition of glass sculpture by Yves B. Golden, at the Feminist Center for Creative Work in Los Angeles (Fall 2024).
Seta has been featured in two conversations for the Brooklyn Rail’s The New Social Environment interview series. She participated in the Lunder Institute’s Summer 2025 think tank, centering the work of the late Choreographer, Blondell Cummings, organized at Colby College by Getty Research Specialist, Kristin Juarez.
Seta’s writing and interviews have been published by Gibney Journal, The Feminist Center for Creative Work /Co-Conspirator Press, Villa Albertine, BOMB Magazine, and Topical Cream. Seta has edited over sixteen print and digital publications to date.
She has danced for choreographers Miguel Gutierrez, Sarah Michelson, and iele paloumpis.
